As a child, Monkey D. Luffy was inspired to become a pirate by listening to the tales of the buccaneer “Red-Haired” Shanks. But Luffy’s life changed when he accidentally ate the Gum-Gum Devil Fruit and gained the power to stretch like rubber…at the cost of never being able to swim again! Years later, still vowing to become the king of the pirates, Luffy sets out on his adventure…one guy alone in a rowboat, in search of the legendary “One Piece,” said to be the greatest treasure in the world…

If you haven’t read any/many manga’s before or you have and you’re looking for one that’s quirky and easy to read this one is for you.
I wasn’t sure if I’d enjoy this or not. My older brother is a big fan of the books and the anime and me and my older brother don’t tend to have very similar tastes but I was curious because he loves it so much. I’m so glad I picked this one up, I have the 3 volume bind up and each volume took about an hour to read. The art style is fun and quirky and I liked that it was a little simpler than art work in other manga’s. I also liked the humour and the characters they were really kind of quirky and it was just what I needed at the time of reading!
